GVI Cape Town sports program starts off with a bang!

This week saw the much anticipated start of GVI’s new sports and lifestyle project at ACJ Primary. Our first sports volunteers, Owain and Heather and our sports coordinator Chris have managed to organise the new timetable to give us one session a week with every class in the senior phase from Grades 4 – 7. Therefore with the hard work and dedication of our volunteers we will now be able to provide not only sports and physical training sessions but healthy lifestyle classes to over 1000 eager and excited children!
Already the children are showing great signs of great skill and passion for sports and physical activities which were showcased in this weekend’s Athletics meeting with other schools in the area. GVI went along and helped and cheered our children into a number of gold positions! Well done kids and thank you to the volunteers for helping us get this great project up and running (excuse the pun) and who knows with your help maybe one day one of our children will aim for a gold in the Olympics!
