Workshop for Teachers at ACJ Primary School

Last Saturday the teachers from ACJ Pakhade Primary School in Nomzamo township asked GVI to run a workshop focussing on leadership and management skills as well as the quality of relationships between teachers and learners.

The workshop integrated a presentation which addressed these topics with relevent exercises which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The hall was filled with laughter, great ideas and a buzz of activity. The day ended with singing and dancing and everyone feeling better equiped and motivated for preparations for the up comming exams!

The Western Cape Education department will be visiting ACJ Primary School in October to examine their grade 6 students on their literacy and numercacy skills. Last year the school obtained a 0% pass rate for numeracy and only a 6% pass rate for literacy!

The workshop on Saturday in conjunction with the one on one sessions GVI volunteers will be implenting at the school over the next 3 months are a drive to improve on their results in the up comming examinations.
