Our Cape Town programs go live!!!!

Today was our first day with volunteers on our programs at Ikhayalethemba Village and ACJ Primary School. Our volunteers were fantastic and we all had so much fun with all the children at ACJ primary school in their one on one literacy and numeracy sesssions and at Ikhayalethemba village where school opened for the very first time today!

The grade 6's at ACJ were so happy with their lessons from Louise and Sarah today that they are all queing up to be on the program, so we desperately need more volunteers to help us keep up with the growing demand!

Mama Lumka was over the moon with the success of the very first day of school in her little village. The children learnt new songs, did lots of colouring in, had story time and marched Will and Jonathan around the grounds in the village proudly showing them their vegetable garden, chickens and jungle gymn! They also learnt the english words for many of their body parts today. I think Will and Jonathan will sleep really well tonight after their busy day!

Thank you so much to Sarah, Louise, Jonathan, Will and all the staff at Ikhayalethemba and ACJ primary for all their efforts in making this such a memorable day. We are looking forward to showing the new volunteers who arrive on Sunday all our progress - keep watching out for more of our exciting news.....
