Internship starts off with a big C!

This week saw the beginning of our internship program for 2011. This week we have been a bit low on numbers but this has allowed us to try out some new ideas and implement our new curriculum, this week our 8 children have been learning all about the letter C. From cats to caterpillars and cake to carrots it has been amazing to watch the progress of these children in just one week. They can all recognise pictures and the letter at the beginning of each word. We have also started counting and trying to write our no. 2’s which is proving a little tricky but they are getting there. We have used lots of tricks and poems to get them going the ‘around and across’ method is working well, Tando even started saying it as he wrote his ‘2s’.
To round of our week the children all made cat masks and pretended to be cats for creative session. I have never seen such happy children and they all thought it was hilarious to see teacher Cara as a cat too! This week has been a huge success and the start of a fantastic new element to our programs and internships. Watch this space for more updates!
