Home made volcanoes + fascinated children = Priceless!

This past week at Ikhayalethemba Village, we have started our new theme – Science, Building and Construction. The children are learning about static electricity, making sunglasses, wind flowers and magnets. The highlight of the week was definitely when class C made volcanoes in the sand! The sheer amazement on their faces when they erupted was priceless and one to remember for a long time.

Also in class we are focusing on lower case letters and sounds of the letters with our older classes as some children have graduated and will be attending school very soon. Food Friday was fruit kebab skewers which the children thoroughly enjoyed especially the accompanying yoghurt. The children always look forward to Fridays as they know to look forward to something different and exciting!
