Another GVI first for Cape Town!

The last few weeks have seen another first for GVI Cape Town with the running of our first Healthcare workshops project. With one very hard working and willing volunteer we have got off to a modest but great start. This project has the potential to make a huge impact on the lives of the people living in these communities in a very different way to our other projects. Volunteers will be responsible for teaching the carers at day care centres and nurseries important healthcare practices and protocols to follow with the children such as hand washing routines as well as how to spot the early signs of various illnesses and of course early detection makes addressing such illnesses much easier and successful. This project will move between different nurseries in the Cape Town area with a focus on the communities we are already working on in Fish Hoek and Gordon’s Bay. We would like to thank Amanda our first volunteer for putting so much into the project as well as our local partners who were extremely enthusiastic and supportive. Here’s to the future of this project and long may it continue to assist those in desperate need of help.
