Be Active! Fundraising event at ACJ

Last weekend we completed a three day hike which culminated with a walk up Table Mountain. Our aim was to raise funds, particularly for sports equipment at ACJ Primary School.
We were keen to get the children of ACJ raising funds too, so today we held a fundraising event called Be Active! It was great fun, we had ideal weather for the event and there was lots of hype as we arrived at the school.
The year threes were the focus for the first part of the day.  They had Egg and Spoon races, water relays and wheel barrow races.  The volunteers had a great time supporting their teams as they moved them through the events. There were lots of laughs and enthusiastic cheering.
This was followed by the year six dance competition.  The year six students have been enthusiasticlly practising their dance routines for the past couple of weeks and presented some energetic  performances on the day .  There were some amazing drumming performances to go with them too!
Once the winning dance team was announced the crowd ran towards the sound system and spontaneously erupted into a dance party with the teachers, students and volunteers all involved. Lots of smiles and lots of fun times and certainly part of our motto for the day, Be Active!
A great day had by all!
We are still short of our fundraising target, but there is still time to help.  You can visit our fundraising page.

We really want to help the children of ACJ have improved sporting equipment and facilities.
