Physical activites at Ikhayalethemba orphanage

Getting the children involved in Physical Activities is an important part of our program at Ikhayalethemba orphanage.  It’s a  fantastic way of developing a range of physical skills as well as team skills. We have running races, obstacle courses, dancing, ball games, hoop games and the list goes on.  The children have a great time with these activities as do our volunteers. We never cease to be amazed at some of the skills of our children. When you see a toddler doing all sorts of tricks with a soccer ball, see how well balanced most of the children are as they climb and see some of the children sprint during races, you know we have some talented future athletes .  Our photos and videos here show how we had a great time recently with some of our physical activities. We did sack races (with Pick and Pay shopping bags of course), balloon races of all types, wheel barrow and three legged races. The children had a marvellous time and the volunteers and carers shared lots of laughs and smiles as they watched on with some races and joined in with others.
