How was that?!

We have been doing cricket this week, or more specifically fielding techniques and run outs. This has involved throwing a ball up for students to catch and then watching them try to shatter the stumps from about 10 metres away, on one occasion literally. More entertaining still was the enjoyment they got from being given a random number of points for doing so, and hearing them counting the points the team had amassed. We finished up with a race between four teams in which one person ran out to a line, turned and had to pick up a ball rolled to them and throw it back in, either to the volunteer behind the stumps, or just at the stumps themselves. The competitiveness never ceases to amaze me and the energy of the volunteers kept the kids cheering even when they had come in last by some way. Other than a certain amount of cheating from volunteers it has been a huge success!
